My friend Frank Rocco and I have been developing our own intellectual property for animation either CG or 2D. Here is a sneak peak at some of the work. If you happen to be a studio and would like more details you can contact me @ silvertoons@yahoo.com

That's pretty awesome! Speaking of intellectual property, how do you actually protect an identity that you've created like in your case that skull logo. I have an idea in particular that I'm afraid to publicize since I don't want someone stealing it.

Fabianv,

The best thing you can do is not only copyright it, and that occurs from the moment you create it. but you can officially do it through the www.copyright.gov website and use form VA. Also the best thing to do is publish it. get it out there and let it be seen. That shows a date it was in use. If someone is going to be low enough to steal someone else's idea, they are going to do it. My advise is to take risks and just do it. Let people see what it is your trying to protect, it will let others know that you did it first. And of course you can always just keep it to yourself and pitch it to studios.
hope that helps.

Cool characters Stephen. This would be great stop motion, for a very caricatured sense of motion to compliment the design. Can't wait to see more!

Wow, these are so fun man. Good luck and I hope to see more of these characters in the future. Great concept, I love the pirate hiding in the coat!

Hey Stephen,
very nice characters. And what about Channel Frederator or Screen Novelties International ? I bet they would love these as an animated series. Just an idea. Good luck with the project!

looks really cool and best of all 'silly'. Good luck with it.

I was also inspired by you to make a 'film it as you draw it' tutorial. It's pretty much dumber than yours but it's a set in the right direction.

Again, cheers for the inspiration

Awesome character designs, I love your work. Mike Manley is actually my figure drawing teacher, and he brought in a copy of your book LIFE, and we used it as a basis for really pushing our figures today. Thanks for being an inspiration, Im planning on signing up for your class as soon as I save up the money.

( numerous 'wows' overlapping each other with a slowly rising crescendo and then the tapering off of said crescendo more gradual still. a couple of 'gee whizzes' and 'holy friks' escaping the joyous din of the more audible and chorus like 'wows' towards the end/sharp exhales also overlapped and crescendoed } :)
